Frequently asked questions
What is the composition of the capsules?
Each capsule contains 100 mg of xyloglucan, 50 mg of gelose, 100 mg of propolis, 100 mg of Hibiscus sabdariffa, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (of plant origin), and corn starch.
Why do urinary infections start in the intestine?
Most uncomplicated urinary tract infections originate from bacteria in the large intestine, making it a key target for preventing recurrent infections. Bacteria such as Escherichia coli (E. coli), normally part of the intestinal flora, can be transferred from the anal area to the urethra due to poor hygiene or during sexual activity, ascending to the bladder and causing infection.
My symptoms have not improved?
If symptoms persist for more than 5 days, consult your doctor. An acute urinary tract infection may require antibiotic treatment. Utipro® Plus AF has no bactericidal or bacteriostatic properties and cannot replace antibiotic treatment; however, it can be taken simultaneously.
Can I dissolve the capsules?
The product is designed to be administered in capsule form, as capsules mask potentially unpleasant organoleptic characteristics. However, in case of swallowing difficulties, the capsule contents may be mixed with a small amount of solid food or liquid.
How long should I take it?
To prevent urinary infections, Utipro® Plus AF should be taken for at least 6 months.
Can I take it if I am pregnant?
Although no side effects are known, it is recommended not to use the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless otherwise advised by a healthcare professional.
Does it have any side effects or interact with other medications?
Utipro® Plus AF contains natural-origin ingredients, is low in sugars, suitable for vegetarians, and free from lactose and gluten. It should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to xyloglucan, gelose, or any other ingredient in the product.
What is the difference between Utipro® Plus AF and Metiofitina®?
Utipro® Plus AF acts at the source of urinary infections, helping to prevent and manage urinary tract infections from the intestine. Metiofitina® acts directly in the urine by acidifying urinary pH, creating a hostile environment for most bacteria, and also helps enhance antibiotic activity during acute episodes.
Can Utipro® Plus AF cause changes in stool?
No, no changes in stool have ever been reported as a result of taking the product.
Can Utipro® Plus AF interfere with the absorption of nutrients, water, or medications?
Xyloglucan forms a protective layer in the intestine similar to the intestinal mucosa. This layer does not interfere with the absorption of nutrients, water, or medications, allowing them to pass normally.
