If you have symptoms of urinary discomfort, take 2 capsules a day (1 capsule every 12 hours) for five days. You can combine Utipro ® Plus AF with an antibiotic.
To prevent recurrences of cystitis, take 1 capsule daily for at least 15 consecutive days per month, and follow the recommendations of your doctor or pharmacist. This product is safe to take chronically.
What is the composition of the capsules?
Each capsule contains 100 mg of xyloglucan, 50 mg of gelose, 100 mg of propolis, 100 mg of Hibiscus sabdariffa , silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable origin) and corn starch.
Why do urinary tract infections start in the gut?
Most uncomplicated UTIs originate from bacteria in the large intestine, making it an important target for preventing recurrent infections. These bacteria, such as Escherichia coli (E. coli), which are normally part of the intestinal flora, can be transferred from the anal area to the urethra. This process often occurs due to poor hygiene or during sexual intercourse, making it easier for bacteria to ascend the urethra into the bladder.
Have your symptoms not improved?
If symptoms persist for more than 5 days, consult your doctor. An acute urinary tract infection may require treatment with antibiotics. This product has neither bactericidal nor bacteriostatic properties, therefore it cannot replace antibiotic treatment. However, Utipro ® Plus AF can be administered simultaneously.
Can I dissolve the capsules?
Yes, preferably in juice, water or yogurt. The capsule should be opened and its contents dispersed in the liquid.
How long should I take it?
To prevent urinary tract infections, you need to take Utipro Plus AF for at least 6 months.
Can I take it if I am pregnant?
Although there are no known side effects, it is recommended not to use the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless otherwise indicated by a healthcare professional.
Does it have side effects or interact with other medications?
Utipro ® Plus AF contains ingredients of natural origin and is low in sugar, suitable for vegetarians, lactose-free and gluten-free.
Utipro ® Plus AF should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to xyloglucan, gelose or any other ingredient of the product.
What is the difference between Utipro® Plus AF and Metiophytina?
Utipro ® Plus AF fights urinary tract infections from their source, helping to both prevent and treat urinary tract infections from the intestine. In contrast, Metiofitina ® acts directly on the urine, acidifying the urinary pH and creating a toxic environment for most bacteria. In addition, the composition of Metiofitina ® allows for improved antibiotic activity during acute episodes.
Can Utipro® Plus AF cause changes in my stools?
No changes in stool attributable to ingestion of the product have ever been reported.
Can Utipro® Plus AF interfere with the reabsorption of nutrients, water and medications?
Xyloglucan forms a protective layer in the intestine, similar to the intestinal mucosa. This layer does not interfere with the absorption of nutrients, water or medications, allowing them to pass through normally.
