This specific combination of ingredients improves antibiotic activity by increasing the concentration of antibiotics in the urine and promoting their bioactive chemical form, in particular the following antibiotics: Tetracycline, Doxycycline, Cefotaxime, Cephalothin, Cephalothin, Cefazolin, Ceftazidime, Piperacillin, Ampicillin, Nitrofurantoin, Fosfomycin and Methenamine hippurate.

L-Methionine: an amino acid that helps to reduce the pH of urine, facilitating the action and effectiveness of antibiotics normally used to treat UTIs such as fosfomycin, ampicillin and cephalosporin.
Phytate: acts as a protective shield against the bacteria that cause urinary tract infections (UTIs), preventing their proliferation in the urinary tract.
Acute phase: 1 tablet every 8 hours for 5 days in combination with antibiotic treatment.
Preventive phase: 1 tablet every 24 hours in the evening for at least 6 months.
Does it have any side effects or interact with other medicines?
No, Metiofitin® is made from plant extracts such as phytate (rice bran extract) and natural ingredients such as L-methionine (natural amino acid), recommended by the European Urology Guidelines. It is suitable for vegans and coeliacs (gluten-free), lactose intolerant people and diabetics as it does not contain sugar. No side effects have been reported and no drug interactions have been observed.
Can I take it together with antibiotic treatment?
Yes, it can be combined with antibiotic treatment to enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotic. The dosage in case of acute infection is 1 tablet every 8 hours for 5 days together with the antibiotic.
Which antibiotics does Methiophytin® work best with?
It works best with acidophilic antibiotics, which are those that are most effective at a low urinary pH (pH<6).
Does it work without antibiotics?
Absolutely, Methiophytin® creates a more toxic environment for some bacteria. At a lower pH, we have a greater bactericidal effect (fewer live bacteria) and a greater bacteriostatic effect (less bacterial growth).
